Cookies of Christmas Past

Does December have you dreaming of cookies like it does me?  Actually, I dream those dreams all year long, but especially at Christmastime.

Here are a few cookies from Christmases past to get your cookie mojo flowing.
{For tutorials on each design, just click the links or pictures.}

Elf on the Shelf Cookies...
...I didn't realize until recently that there is a big split in America.  Forget red state/blue state.  It's pro-elf/anti-elf.  Kiddo is too old for the elf, but I have to come down on the pro-elf side...if only for the cookies.

Charlie Brown Christmas...
...these are an easy way to capture the Peanuts characters without having to pipe faces.

Baa Humbug...
...get it?

Christmas Cottages...
...I love anything dotty and these make great treats for the neighbors!

Dotty Winter Trees...
...sanding sugar or not, these trees are perfect throughout winter.  (And again with the dots.)

Pink & Red Christmas Ornaments...
...pink & red is one of my favorite color combinations. Ornament cookie cutters are fantastic to have in your collection. Make them any color, personalize them...the possibilities are endless.

Peppermint Candy Cookies...

...inspired by Martha, so simple and fun to make.

I'm cooking up a few new ideas for this month as well.
Are you decorating cookies this Christmas?

  4. Believe it or not, yesterday, one of the church ladies invited us to her house for a cookie decorating party. It's in two weeks, and I volunteered to bring cookies and icing. Imagine my surprise when I arrived here this morning. Thank you for all your creative and brilliant ideas. I'm thinking your next cookie book should be a Christmas one. :)

  8. I love ALL your Christmas cookie ideas! I'll have to do the Elf cookies one of these years, since our elf "Jingle" is pretty popular at my house. =) I'm planning on making some simple stocking cookies for everyone this year. Maybe with the marbling technique to make them look knit? I love christmas cookies!!

  19. These Christmas cookies are so amazing! I saw the Elf and squeeled, band scrolled down to see the Baa humbug and fell in love. Hubby was Scrooge in the first play he invited me to see him in. I always tease him that I married Scrooge. Thanks for the smiles.

  22. Bridget, love your creative cookies, so pretty. I belong to a group of lady pilots here in Houston. Do you know how I could make some cookies in the shapes of airplanes? Where do you find your cookie cutters (like the elf)? Thank you for any ideas you could send our way.
