Have you noticed the cute little buttons on posts with the recipes that look like this:

Let me tell you about them:
- Clicking "Save This Recipe" will take you to ZipList where you can save recipes & create grocery lists, not just from this blog, but from tons of other blogs and websites like, oh, Martha Stewart, Confessions of a Cookbook Queen, Cookies and Cups, Recipe Girl, TidyMom, Skinny Taste, A Southern Fairytale, Our Best Bites, and Challenge Dairy...just to name a few. They even have an app!
- Clicking "Print This Recipe" will let you, well, print the recipe. Right now this is through Google Docs. Someday, maybe blogger will come up with a cute recipe card option. Until then, print away. I'm including a small picture with every recipe...I don't know about you, but I like to see pictures...I'll keep them small, though, so you don't waste precious printer ink.

This will be a regular feature on new recipes and I'll try to go back to add them to old ones as I get a chance...and as I remember. ;) Are there any requests?
ZipList & Printable Recipes...works for me! :)

...I did notice the new little buttons on your website lately - very nice & thank you! :o)
ReplyDelete...Also, thank you for the ZipList referral too! I was not aware of 'em and have now signed up with them, what a wonderful source & convenient too.
...As always, you're awesome!
...Enjoy your evening!
...Blessings :o)
...Whoa, I was first?! Get out. *giggle* ;o)
DeleteSo glad you added this to your site! Makes it easy for all of us to print your recipes. I had never heard of it...awesome!
ReplyDeleteZiplist approached me and right now the plans are on hold because I'd have to re-do lots of things on my site in terms of plugins and adding all the bells and whistles needed to make it compatible. So even though I have a self-hosted wordpress blog, it's not just point and click, so to speak. So don't feel bad that it's just a blogger situation.
ReplyDeleteHi, I tried using ziplist. But I can't seem to use it in your site? I can't find the button that says Save the Recipe. All I can see is print the recipe... I tried with other website and it seems to be working. Am I not seeing the button?
ReplyDeleteHmm...I'm not sure why you can't see it. It's not on every post. Try checking this one:

I just started using ZipList myself...but not taking full advantage of it yet, I need to learn how to make the most of it :)
ReplyDeleteI love ziplist! SO glad I was able to find an easy printable plugin :)
ReplyDeleteTHanks for the linky love too, friend!
I really like the Zip List option. Looking forward to exploring it. I notice on the Butterscotch Blondie recipe that vanilla is listed under "frozen" and the butter flavoring is listed under "dairy" on the shopping list choice. I am guessing that is because the computer picks up the familiar part of the name and puts it in a typical category. Overall a very handy feature. Love your website! PS, I am planning on making your luscious looking butterscotch blondies this week! Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had some way to edit that, but I don't. :( Hopefully, it will get better over time. I also see that a couple of the recipe titles are not correct. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that the kinks work out.
DeleteAny chance of getting the color to be black words on yellow rather than the white colored words....can't really make out what it says without you pointing it out. Love the idea!
ReplyDeleteNo, sorry. :( The buttons are bigger on the actual posts....the pictures above are a cropped "screen grab."
DeleteThis is a nice post in an interesting line of content, great way of bring this topic to discussion.
ReplyDeleteI've never used it, I will try and sure hope it works for me. However, when you click on "save this recipe" where is it saved?
ReplyDeleteOn the ZipList site.
DeleteLove ziplist! It is such a handy feature and so easy to use. :)
ReplyDeleteI love Zip List! So awesome, can't wait to add some of your stuff!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bridget!
ReplyDeleteI lOVE Ziplist - thank you so much for adding this feature to your blog!!
ReplyDeleteOh that's so great!! Can't wait to try it!
ReplyDeleteI love ziplist! I kept meaning to mention that I loved that you were now using it on your recipes B!
ReplyDeleteHi Bridget - We haven't met yet, but I have been following you for awhile now. (I promise I am not a stalker.) I LOVE what you do! I am in the process of developing a blog and really appreciate you sharing the Ziplist info. I was wondering how to do that...
ReplyDeleteTheresa
I found Ziplist on another blog and LOVE IT!!!! It is so useful when I am at the store and "forgot" about the recipe I wanted to make. So happy you added the option!
ReplyDeletethis is great, I love the idea, I so want to make my recipes printable, but you know, it took me forever to just figure out how to link things, so it could take me years.
ReplyDeleteI do use ziplist and have actually recommended it to other bloggers to use so I could save their recipes, but I just tried it on the pot o gold popcorn and it didn't work :( May be a hiccup in my computer :(
ReplyDeletei LOVE LOVE LOVE Ziplist so thanks for featuring and including it. it's the app i invented in my head, and then voila! there it was already. i am in recipe and easy shopping list heaven!! (btw - it's new so it's still a bit buggy at times, but sooo worth it)
ReplyDeleteI love ZipList! I have been using it for awhile now!!! I even mentioned it on my blog not too long ago. Speaking of, I am trying to figure out how to add the ZipList feature to my blog and have all my recipes linked up. Do you mind sharing how you did it?? Thanks so much and love your site!!! <3
ReplyDeleteSo last weekend I tried your vanilla-almond sugar cookie (or is it almond-vanilla?!) and royal icing recipes...and, Bridget, OH MY GOODNESS! I have never had a sugar cookie recipe work so beautifully and still taste sooo good! My husband was just amazed because we have spent every Christmas together lamenting on terrible attempts to make sugar cookies easily AND beautifully. And the royal icing was just AS amazing! It was my first attempt to flood cookies, and I think they turned out rather nice. ;) I added lemon extract to my royal icing for a spring taste, and although I did sin and use Wilton meringue powder, I thought it still tasted just right. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! These are going in my recipe collection to use for every holiday!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the save the recipe option. I would like this option for your Irish Soda Bread recipe. Couldn't remember where I saw it, so I never had the chance to make it in time for St. Patty's Day. Will try to make it for next years festivities.
ReplyDeleteI love the print option, I'd like to use the same for my blog. Would you mind letting me know how to set it up? Many thanks!
